CONSTITUTION OF THE BAL BHARATI PUBLIC SCHOOL PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION

  1. Name- The Association shall be called the Bal Bharati Public School Parents Teachers Association.
  2. Office- The Office of the PTA shall be the Bal Bharati Public School, Indraprasth Yojna.
  3. Aims & Objectives:
    1. To promote the welfare of the children at home, in school and in the Community.
    2. To create a better understanding between Parents and Teachers.
    3. To create consciousness among Parents and Teachers about the welfare of the School and Children.
    4. To advise Parents and create consciousness among them about their responsibility towards the children.
    5. To work for harmonious relationship between School and Community.
    6. To provide books and uniforms and to award scholarships and prizes and other help to deserving and needy students.
  4. Role and Responsibilities / Functions -
    1. To raise concerns related to safety , health , transportation and facilities.
    2. To mobilize community resources for the welfare of the children.
    3. To sponsor school functions and programs.
    4. To increase cooperation and better understanding between parents and teachers.
    5. To organise activities for the welfare of the children.
    6. To arrange for programmes of recreation for students.
    7. To help parents understand school policies and programs.
    8. To work with the school to ensure safe and healthy environment.
    9. To participate in discussions regarding new initiatives or policies .
    10. To work with teachers and parents to promote discipline , good behaviour and moral values among students.
    11. To help in programs related to health awareness , safety campaigns, career guidance and student counselling.
  5. Policy- The PTA will be a purely Non- Commercial, Non- Sectarian and Non -Political Association and will not seek to interfere in the academic and administrative policies of the school. Its role will be purely an advisory in the school's development and its functions.
  6. The PTA shall comprise of two bodies:
    1. General Body:
      1. All the parents of the students studying at School, shall be enrolled as the members of the General Body.
      2. The Principal and teachers of the School shall be the Ex-Officio members.
    2. Executive Committee:
      1. The Executive Committee shall consist of the following members:
        1. Chairman - Head of the School (Ex-Officio)
        2. Vice Chairman (One) - from among parents.
        3. Honorary Secretary (One) - from among the parents.
        4. Honorary Treasurer (One)- from among the teachers.
        5. Members - Six from among the parents and six from teachers.
        6. Members may be co-opted in place of outgoing members.
  7. Parents and Teachers representation to:
    1. Parent representation to the PTA shall be as under:
      • One parent member from Montessori department - preferably a women
      • Two parent members from Primary department (of which at least one should be a women)
      • Two parent members from Middle /Secondary department (of which at least one should be a women)
      • One parent member from Senior Secondary department
      • One parent of the student who is achiever in the field of Sports. (The Screening Committee for the same shall consist of three senior Sports Teachers of the School).
      • One parent of the student who is achiever in the field of cultural activities like (Art/Dance/Music etc.). (The Screening Committee for the same shall consist of three senior Activity Coordinators/Teachers of the School).
      • One parent who is either an Academician or a person of repute. (The Screening Committee for the same shall consist of Headmistress, Senior PGT, School Counsellor).
    2. Teachers representation to the PTA shall be as under:
      • Any one of the Academic Incharges of the School
      • Two Senior Faculty from Secondary/Senior Secondary department
      • Two Senior Faculty from Middle department
      • Two Senior Faculty from Primary department
      • A Senior Faculty from Montessori department
      • A Senior Sports Faculty
      • The Vice Chairman shall preside over the committee of the Association in the absence of the chairman.
      • Honorary Secretary shall be responsible for all the correspondence on behalf of the Association.
      • Honorary Treasurer shall maintain the accounts of the Association.
      • One of the Executive Committee member shall be nominated to the Managing Committee of the School.
  8. Membership - All parents of the students shall be the member of the PTA and all teachers shall be its Ex-Officio members. No parent should continue as a member or office bearer of the PTA of the School if his/her ward has left the School.
  9. Election - The Election of the office bearer (Executive Committee) shall be held in the month of April every alternate year.
  10. Subscription - All the parent members shall pay an Annual Subscription as decided by the Executive Committee of the PTA.
  11. Funds - All the funds of the PTA shall be deposited in a scheduled bank in the name of the Association and the accounts shall be jointly operated by the Treasurer along with Chairman or Secretary of PTA.

    All the funds shall be utilized for the Attainment of the aims and objectives of the PTA . The Accounts of the PTA shall be subjected to Annual Audit.

  12. Meetings - The Executive Committee of the PTA shall meet twice in an Academic Session and the quorum for the same shall be one third of the total strength. No quorum will be required for adjournment.
